So, everyone is getting used to the new 'normal', figuring out new processes and routines in order to keep the community safe and prevent the spread of the virus. Here's a guide to what to expect at the clinic from Monday.
Before your appointment:
New patients will complete our consultation form online (a link will be emailed to you before your appointment) and will have an initial consultation online.
All patients will be called within 24 hours of your clinical appointment to check you aren't experiencing any coronavirus symptoms.
On arrival to your clinical appointment:
We kindly ask that only the patient comes into the clinic where possible. We understand that treatment of minors/children or individuals who require a carer with them then this is essential.
ALL patients will be required to wear a mask to come into the building/opticians and remain on until you leave (unless your therapist informs you otherwise).
Anyone entering the opticians will be asked to use the antibacterial gel provided before continuing through the practice.
Follow the stairs to the treatment room where you will be greeted by your therapist.
During the treatment:
Your therapist will be wearing PPE for the duration of the session. This will include mask, apron and gloves (all which will be disposed immediately after treatment) and for any close contact treatment, a face shield.
If you would like a towel during the treatment, we are currently asking that you bring your own to reduce any cross-infection. This will need to be in a bag so that you can take it home safely to wash afterwards.
Most of our payments will be online but if you need to make a payment in clinic, then we ask that you use contactless/card to avoid any handling of cash.
Hopefully this breakdown makes it all less overwhelming. I know as therapists, it is going to seem very strange to begin with, but I believe it will all become second nature before too long.
Look forward to having you back!
